When Is ISO/IEC 17025 Calibration Recommended?

What do ISO/IEC 17025, ANAB and ILAC-MRA mean?

ISO/IEC 17025

ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard that defines the general requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of testing and calibration laboratories.

ANAB

ANAB (ANSI National Accreditation Board) is the accreditation body that assesses laboratories against this standard and grants accreditation when the required criteria are met.

ILAC-MRA

ILAC-MRA is the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement, an international agreement among accreditation bodies that supports the global acceptance of accredited calibration and testing results.

ATI accreditation

Because ANAB is an ILAC-MRA signatory for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, certificates issued under ANAB accreditation are internationally recognized within the same framework as certificates issued by other national accreditation bodies that are signatories to the same arrangement, such as ACCREDIA in Italy, DAkkS in Germany and UKAS in the United Kingdom.
