Universal hardness tester Integral Revolver is a fully motorized system for automatic loading and optical measurement through camera. AFFRI System hardness testers achieve the highest level of load accuracy and measurement resolution available for hardness tests. Thanks to the AFFRI System, the real indentation measurement is guaranteed without any external interference in any condition.
How to do a hardness measurement?
The hardness measurements are very easy, quick and absolute. The hardness test cycle is fully automatic and motorized in just one drive (button or icon):

SPECIMEN AUTO-CONTACT FROM ANY DISTANCE
Fully motorized adjustable testing stand up to 500 mm / 20” vertical capacity including automatic contact with test surface from every distance with single start input (As option up to 700 mm / 28”). Test cycle is automatic activated, it starts when the head makes contact with the specimen which is automatically recognized at any position within the vertical stroke.
The Integral hardness tester is a robust, reliable system, designed to function even in hostile environments. Heavy and bulky samples can be easily placed using a forklift or overhead-traveling crane.
AUTO-COMPENSATION OF ALL DEFLECTIONS
When testing unstable samples or deflecting parts, the AFFRI System will follow the sample without losing contact thanks to its infinite stroke for indenter and clamping hood.
THE CLOSED LOOP
Load forces are applied through load cells and controlled in “Closed Loop” with a frequency of 1 khz, assuring perfect linearity in every range. Results are not affected by any structural deflection, misalignment or vibration.
Accurate measurements on the first test, even in extreme conditions, eliminate the need for repeated tests. The R&R data is at the top of its class.

UNIVERSAL HARDNESS TESTER INTEGRAL REVOLVER
Up to 8 slots (or more) for different hardness scales indenters, different optic lenses, laser, even a milling surface preparation tool. Auto-rotating and auto-tool-switching for a complete automatic measurement cycle. For single or multi hardness test methods using only one tester.
Secure contact with the specimen is always maintained, even in the unlikely event of any specimen movement during the operation cycle. The clamping system assures complete stability of any test piece throughout the test cycle, even if it’s oiled, rusty or dirty.
The wide work table base is capable of bearing masses over 3000 kg and special fixtures or anvils. Hardness measurements on bulky and irregular test pieces which cannot be easily reached by the regular bench hardness testers.
Automatic focus adjustment for each optic with precise positioning at any magnification by mean of real image scanning brightness, at continuous step for infinite accuracy. This system assures high reading standards, reproducible focusing quotes and reduces reading time. Hardness results are not affected by subjectivity.
From perfectly polished to rough & etched samples, the software automatically measure indents on any sample surface. Automatic light regulation on dark, opaque or polished samples. The software controls and adjusts the light and contrast to find the right combination and measure the indent.
MOTORIZED XY TABLE
With an accuracy of 0.5µm/step travel and the ability to support 3000kgf of testing mass, the XY table is the perfect solution for automatic multi-indentation measurement. The patterns can be easily programmed, copied, saved and quickly open back. All the final result datas along with measurement images are exported to the network. (Accessory on request)
Easy joystick, buttons control and touchscreen. Large capacity Hard Disk and PC assure infinite performance as well as remote control for easy assistance everywhere. USB and Ethernet outputs. Connect to database networks, PC’s and printers, to download data or for final custom reports.
DATA IMPORT / EXPORT
Universal Hardness tester can enter data via code bar scanning. Test cycles or sample drawings can be loaded directly from a central system by means of a bar code scanner. This hardness tester gets all information fully automatically. After test run the bar code data are added with results and immediately returned to the order management system.
The remote control connects the AFFRI hardness tester from anywhere in the world with AFFRI’s engineers. Our experts can remotely diagnose any technical issues, provide additional operator training and update software version.
